Process: I've never really done a big photoshoot before, one with the whole getup of planned outfits, and even now I like to keep my options open and just do what feels right in the moment while capturing the photos. When I heard this objective, to prove that the camera is just a box and that the human creates the mood, I got really excited. This was a very open-ended project, but I knew I could have so much fun with it. Normally I stick to landscapes and items, because they won't be disappointed if the photos don't turn out and if I take too long setting up my camera and getting prepared. I had a couple of ideas swirling around about how I would do this assignment, but eventually this is what I chose. Honestly, I think all of the pictures turned out so well, and out of the 400+ photos, these two just really stood out when I thought about mood. They give off such an eerie sensation that tells you "you shouldn't be looking", that makes you feel like you're imposing on the pictures which I just love so much.
